Frogmore Stew ... also known as Beaufort Stew and Lowcountry Boil, has its origins in a small town in the great state of South Carolina, called ... of course, Frogmore!
My husband heard from somewhere that it was made for soldiers during the Civil War, an account that is supported along with another story about its possible origins in the University of South Carolina's Scholar Commons publication.
I was introduced to this delicious dish by my husband, who is also a Culinary Arts graduate of Johnson and Wales University. He has published his recipe for Frogmore Stew on our food blog, The Saturday Evening Pot.
Go check it out and give it a try if you've never had it before for a yummy taste of the South!
